Municipal Sustainability
The Regional Energy Strategy for Cumberland County represents a true partnership initiative between all levels of government, industry, communities, and residents alike. It shows leadership at the Municipal level and recognizes the important role these Municipalities will play in climate change initiatives and sustainable energy development. All three Municipal Units (Municipality of the County of Cumberland, Town of Springhill and the Town of Parrsboro) are working together to further develop Cumberland County’s renewable resources. By integrating sustainability into municipal operations and development practices, and conducting outreach and awareness programs, we intend to adopt a “Walk the Talk” philosophy to show leadership at the Municipal level.
